LUBRIM OIL was created as a brand in 1974, owned by LUBRIMO, S.A. (Lubricantes MOTUL S.A.), for the distribution and manufacture of its products in the Iberian Peninsula, establishing LUBRIM as the company’s second brand as part of its commercial and pricing strategy.

In a short time, it became the first independent factory dedicated to the manufacture of lubricants, producing for leading multinational companies including MOTUL, CASTROL, BELRAY, and SHELL.

When it was acquired by a company of the Shell Group, the current company LUBRIM OIL, S.L. was founded, continuing and replacing LUBRIMO, S.A. From the beginning, it specialized in the manufacture and packaging of lubricants for leading multinational brands—ranked among the world’s top five by sales volume—as well as the production and relaunch of its own brand.

This allowed us to become undisputed leaders in the development and production of lubricants, offering a wide range of products for the automotive, industrial, marine, and agricultural sectors. We were the first brand to research, manufacture, and market a biodegradable marine product, with the support of the Ministry of Industry.

In the following years, we achieved the leading position in production volume as an independent producer in our market. From this position, we advanced research into high-end and specialty products, such as synthetic and biodegradable oils, and non-toxic products for the food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetic industries.

Today, our products are marketed in various countries across several continents, including lubricants, greases, brake fluids, coolants, and other chemical products.

We continue to manufacture with the highest and most innovative technology, using next-generation base oils from refineries in the U.S.A., Europe, and the Middle East—Group II, Group III, and synthetic bases from Groups IV and V—combined with the latest-generation additives that meet current standards.

Our goal is to meet all our customers’ needs and supply every product they require, whether for the automotive, industrial, marine, or aviation sectors.
